Pokémon Legends: Arceus is the latest release in the Pokémon franchise, and this entry adds plenty of new mechanics while integrating standard techniques this time around. One set of items that return in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is the Plates, a unique item that augments how a certain Pokémon performs.
Plates allow players to change Arceus’s typing in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Each plate reflects one of the 18 types in Pokémon Legends, and equipping any of these items can change the nature of this Legendary Pokémon. Most of these plates can be acquired throughout the base game’s story, with several that players can pick up during the post-game story.
While these items augment Arceus’s type, capturing this Pokémon is no easy feat. To catch Arceus, players must first complete the entire Pokédex and unlock each plate in Pokémon Legends Arceus before they earn the right to fight this powerful Pokémon. Once players have finished the Pokédex, they can return to the Temple of Sinnoh to face Arceus in battle. Players will unlock The Deified Pokémon mission for their efforts once they’ve finished all prerequisites. Play your newly acquired Azure Flute at the Temple of Sinnoh to initiate a boss battle with Arceus. Once this mission is complete, you’ll receive a copy of Arceus that can accompany you on your journey throughout Hisui.
