Age of Darkness: Final Stand is a brutal survival RTS where your champion and soldiers will battle terrifying nightmares to protect humanity’s last bastion. Morale is an important aspect of this struggle for survival. You should take care to keep your army’s morale high.

Age of Darkness: Final Stand’s moral system is called Embolden and Horrified. Embolden is when your troop’s morale is highest, while Horrified is when it is lowest. These two statuses could be life or death for your soldiers.

Emboldened is gained as your soldiers defeat nightmares and is represented by the gold bar and symbol on the faceplate. Once fully Emboldened, they will have increased health and damage as well as be immune to becoming Horrified. Keeping them near Edwin, your champion increases the rate at which they become Emboldened.

Horrified is the opposite of Emboldened. Certain special nightmares can cause this effect. Any soldier that is caught in the death fog on a Death Night will also become horrified. When a soldier is Horrified, they will gain a purple visual effect around their model. Those afflicted by this will have slowed movement and health regeneration. Light from Fire Towers and the Keep can cure Horrified.
