As we’ve covered before, each Pokemon game brings with it a new mechanic. The new gimmicks began to appear back during the sixth generation. With X & Y, we got the Mega-Evolutions that are still going strong in Pokemon Go. Generation 7 brought the Z-Moves. The eighth generation had the Dynamax mechanic. And now, with the upcoming games, we have the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid battles. It would seem that they share some similarities with the gimmick from the past games. But one thing that we liked seeing during today’s trailer was how the multiplayer part would work, the special abilities, and of course, the new Terastral Pokemon.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid Battles can be tackled in teams of 4 players
We can see that Nintendo is trying to make multiplayer a bit more friendly as the games keep launching. In Sword & Shield, we were able to do a few things. Now, with the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid battles and the big open world that the games promise, we’ll have a lot more things. The Tera Raid battles are the new mechanic for this generation. You can take on the raids with 3 players and fight the Terastral Pokemon at the same time. If it is the same as Dynamax, you’ll be able to capture the Pokemon with a rare Terastral type.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Trailer Reveals New Features
Another thing that we were able to see about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raids is that players have some sort of “rallying” abilities. With some, you can increase the attack or defense of the other Pokemon. There is another one that lets you heal others as well. Also, it would seem that if your Pokemon gets knocked out, it’ll come back to fight after some rounds. This is good because you won’t be locked out of the fight if your Pokemon faints. Also, the fact that we won’t need items makes fighting a lot easier in the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid battles. All that remains to see is what type of Pokemon we will find and what rare Terastral types we’ll be able to capture once the game launches on November 18.
