What do Shrines do in Star Ocean The Divine Force?
Shrines in Star Ocean: The Divine Force are used to acquire a specific food buff when you have offered a Hermes Lily to it. Once a Hermes Lily has been found and offered, you can pray to the Shrine, when you have no food buffs active, to acquire a free food buff for your journey. You can use these as many times as you want.
The food buff you get from Shrines is free and specific to that location. Each Shrine you encounter will offer a different buff from others. For example:
- Del’vyr Region—Earth Res +20 and 15% damage dealt to PlantsCottorinth Region—Restores 1% HP when chaining combos and Confused Res set to +20The Aucerian Highroad—INT +10%Aucerius Plains—Will not flinch from DMG less than 16% of max HP and ATK +10%
Food buffs from Shrines last the same amount of battles as food eaten when staying at inns, which is five. You won’t often use these Shrines, but if you want to save some Fol or really like a specific food buff from a certain Shrine, then all you have to do is find a Hermes Lily.
Hermes Lilies are not locked in the area they were found. If you find a Hermes Lily but not the Shrine, you can use the flower on the next Shrine you come across.
