Introduced first in NBA 2K21 MyTeam, Seasons is a collection of live-service content in NBA 2K. This year in NBA 2K22, Seasons is being expanded to MyTeam, MyCareer, and The W game modes.
Seasons is a way for NBA 2K to release updated content like MyTeam cards and challenges throughout the course of the NBA season. In NBA 2K21 MyTeam, nine seasons so far have been released, adding limited-time MyTeam cards, packs, and collections. This year, Seasons may release every six weeks, similar to last year’s title. However, this year, each Season will release a new collection of MyTeam rewards and challenges, as well as new content in MyCareer and The W game modes.
According to the first NBA 2K22 Courtside Report, “Seasons will introduce an all-new way to level up your MyPlayer and earn exciting MyPlayer prizes in the City and in the Neighborhood.”
The NBA 2K22 next-gen City features new NPCs that can give missions to MyPlayers throughout the City, so Seasons may affect what missions and rewards are given out in the City. For current-gen players, the Neighborhood will be set on a cruise ship, and the Seasons experience may differ. According to the Courtside Report, the cruise ship will dock in exotic locations throughout Seasons, and players can hit land to participate in shoreside events.
More information about Seasons is set to be released later in August and new details about MyCareer mode will be revealed in early September. Seasons is a way to keep the content in NBA 2K22 fresh, and hopefully, the rewards and challenges are entertaining and unique. Now that Seasons is expanding past MyTeam, players may have more options to experience live events based on what is happening during the real NBA season.
