Warhammer 4k Darktide: What are Penances?
If you are wondering what Penances are in Darktide, it’s simple. Penances are just fancy achievements players can complete by doing various actions in Darktide. In total, there are seven variants of Penances players can achieve. Here’s the full list of the types of Penances you can complete in Darktide:
- Class Mission Offensive Defensive Team Account
The required steps for all Penances fall under killing x amount of enemies or performing unique tricks or actions in the game. Other requirements are completing specific Missions or reaching a certain trust level with a character. For Class Penances, you must perform unique tricks ranging from bull rushing a particular boss or knocking back an enemy a certain amount of distance using a grenade. Successfully pulling off one of these feats usually rewards a unique cosmetic skin or other items, such as trinkets. Completing Penances is also tracked across your account, meaning they appear completed across all your characters. Every Penance you complete also earns you Penance Points.
What are Penance points in Darktide? - Warhammer 40k
Penance points are a unique tracker for how many Penances you complete in Darktide. Beyond as a measurement of player skill, it does not appear that the Penance points serve any purpose. That said, each Penance you complete will add a certain amount of points to your total points. You can view how many Penance points you currently have by visiting the Penance achievement menu. Under the Penance achievement menu, you can track your Penance points by looking at the left side of your screen shown below:
How to complete Penances in Darktide - Warhammer 40k
If you want to complete Penances in Darktide, we recommend visiting the Penance menu and checking the requirements for relevant Penances. Most Penances, except Class variations, can be achieved by all characters on your account. To complete special Class Penances, you will need to switch to the required class/character and complete the Penance as that character. Once you select a required class, such as Skullbreaker, you can achieve any Penance achievements for that class by fulfilling the requirements.
