Monster Hunter Rise offers players plenty of prey to tackle when hunting down massive beasts in the game’s many locales. While players start with tiny monsters, they’ll eventually work up to the titan that stands as the mascot of Monster Hunter Rise: Magnamalo. This Fanged Wyvern is relentless in battle and can make quick work of any group unprepared to capitalize on its weaknesses and resistances. Make sure this beast does not slay you by preparing before a fight with Magnamalo by checking Magnamalo’s weaknesses, resistances, and drop rates below.
All Magnamalo Weaknesses
Magnamalo Elemental Weakness
Magnamalo’s main weakness is water, so make sure to bring any weapons with this element if you have them. Should you be bereft of any gear with this affinity, bring along some gear that does thunder damage instead, as these are a close second in terms of damage output. Ice, while much weaker than water and thunder, is still impactful in battle and better than shirking an element entirely. Do not use fire or dragon weapons when fighting Magnamalo because it’s immune to these elements.
If you have water and thunder weapons, aim your attacks at Magnamalo’s Torso, Foreleg, and Hind Leg, as hitting the beast here will yield the most damage. Those using ice weapons will have to focus on the Torso exclusively for optimal damage.
Magnamalo Location Weakness
If you are not wielding an elemental weapon, you want to attack places where you deal extra damage. These places on a monster differentiate depending on the weapon type you use—Cutting, Impact, or Shot.
