As with all the previous Pokémon games that we’ve grown up playing and loving, there are certain tests you have to pass. Passing these tests gets you access to the Gym Leader. They’re all tests that lead up to other tests and, eventually, really difficult battles. However, don’t make the mistake of thinking that these tests aren’t worth it. Gym Leaders almost always drop awesome rewards. Though, in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you will encounter new characters, new Pokémon, and new gyms. Keep reading to learn everything you need to know about the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet gym tests!

New Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Trailer Reveals 3 Storylines

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Gym Leaders

So far, only 3 Gym Leaders have been confirmed to make an appearance in the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Though, that will most likely change in the near future. For now, we know about Grusha, Brassius, and Geeta.

Grusha, from what we’ve determined, actually used to be a professional snowboarder. This clues us into the fact that he is, in fact, an ice-type specialist. Keep that in mind when going up against him. When the battle gets pretty heavy in the Glaceado Gym with Grusha’s Cetitan Pokémon, he tends to let some secrets loose about himself. Be mindful of his dialogue in the game. It might even help out a bit!

Brassius is the Gym Leader of the Artazon Gym. You’ll find that when you visit the town of Artazon, everything is full of color and blooming with wildlife. It only makes sense for Brassius to be the Gym Leader, as he is a grass-type specialist. He has a thing for art and claims to be judging each Pokémon trainer during Gym Tests on their aesthetic sensibilities.

Geeta will be a face you should remember by the time you meet up with her at the end of the game. She is the champion and chairwoman of the Pokémon League. This means that it will likely be a difficult battle. Being the Champion, she’s very skilled and a strong competitor. There is no indication of what type of specialist she is or what Pokemon she uses as her main at this time.

Gym Test in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

You will find yourself completing a series of battles and challenges throughout the game. As a rule, you have to defeat lower levels Gym Leaders to gain access to stronger Gym Leaders. Eventually, you will be able to try out the Pokémon League. As tedious as this sounds, it’s a staple in the Pokémon games. Each Gym Leader you fight will give you a badge when you defeat them. With that badge, you gain access to new areas and new gyms.

We don’t know too much about the specifics of the Gym Tests in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but we know it is bound to be amazing.
