Monster Hunter Rise has a host of powerful foes for players to tackle as they make their way through this monster-slaying epic campaign. During their adventure, hunters are sure to meet with the Great Wroggi. This poison-spewing beast can spell the demise of any unprepared hunter, so make sure you’ve studied up on this foe before meeting it on the field.
When fighting this beast, it’s good to know what it’s weak against or where to inflict that good old damage to slaughter the foe quickly. So here’s Great Wroggi’s weaknesses, resistances, and drop rates.

Great Wroggi Elemental Weakness
The Great Wroggi’s main Elemental weakness is ice, so make sure you bring a frosty weapon with you to the battlefield. If you lack an ice weapon, grab a water one instead, as this is a viable second option. Thunder is the last resort, as the damage boost is minuscule but better than no elemental at all. Do not use fire or dragon weapons, as these elements are ineffective on the Great Wroggi.
If you’ve brought an elemental weapon to battle the Great Wroggi, focus your attacks on its Head and Body to deal more damage.
Great Wroggi Location Weakness
If you are not wielding an elemental weapon, you want to attack places where you deal extra damage. These places on a monster differentiate depending on the weapon type you use—Cutting, Impact, or Shot.

Great Wroggi Resistances and Ailments
The Great Wroggi has several significant resistances to ailments. Make sure you’re only using the following ailments when fighting the beast—Paralysis, Sleep, Blast, and Iceblight. Paralysis and Sleep are the most potent ailments against the Great Wroggi, but Blast and Iceblight are effective secondary attacks. Do not use Poison on the Great Wroggi, as it is ineffective on this monster.
Great Wroggi Drop Rates - Carves, Capturing & Breaking
Depending on your quest, you can get different rewards to forge armor and weapons, but each has a drop rate percentage, ultimately RNG. It is pure luck what you receive.
