Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin implements a new-and-improved version of the job system seen in Final Fantasy I, allowing Jack Garland and his band of rag-tag heroes to utilize a wide range of unique fighting styles in combat. You’ll need to increase each Job’s level to bring out its full potential, however, which can typically only be done through defeating hordes of enemies.
Fortunately, there’s one item in particular that was designed to help speed up this process—Anima Shards. Here’s a breakdown of what Anima Shards are and what they do in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin.
Anima Shards and where to find them
Anima Shards are a type of item that can be used to give a job of your choice a small experience boost, allowing you to level up Jobs without needing to defeat any enemies. Due to this, Anima Shards are an extremely convenient alternative to the regular method of leveling through combat, and are fantastic for raising the level of a Job that may be a bit too weak to take on the monsters you’ll encounter during Jack’s journey.
As can be expected of such a valuable item, however, Anima Shards are a bit rare and can be difficult to get your hands on. They can occasionally be obtained as an item drop from defeating enemies or bosses, meaning you’re likely to come across a couple while clearing dungeons, though Anima Shards are primarily acquired from chests or as Completion Rewards earned from various missions.
How to use Anima Shards
Fortunately, while tracking down and collecting Anima Shards can be tough, using them is fairly simple. To use an Anima Shard, first, access the Job Trees section of the Main Menu while on the World Map or when using Cubes. From there, select the Job that you would like to level up, then take a look at the bottom-right corner of the screen and you’ll notice the option Use Anima Shards. Simply press the associated button on your controller to get the leveling process started.
Anima Shards provide 4000 EXP per shard, which is enough EXP to provide one level per Anima Shard until the Job has reached around level ten. As an added benefit, there is currently no limit to the number of Anima Shards that can be used at one time, so long as you have some in your inventory. If you have a job that you’re looking to level up quickly, make sure to keep an eye out for Anima Shards and collect as many as you can!
