Aknosom is one of the Bird Wyverns in Monster Hunter Rise and this large monster uses its aerial prowess to overcome inexperienced hunters. Make sure you know how to handle this airborne terror on your hunts by avoiding its resistances and capitalizing on its weaknesses so you can nab that sweet loot.

When fighting this beast, it’s good to know what it’s weak against or where to inflict that good old damage to slaughter the foe quickly. So here’s Aknosom’s weaknesses, resistances, and drop rates.

All Aknosom Weaknesses

Aknosom Elemental Weakness

The main weakness of this feathery friend is water, but if you have thunder or ice will still be more effective than using no element at all. But do not use fire or dragon, as the Aknosom is immune to these elements. Here are the locations where you should attack Aknosom for extra elemental damage.

You should focus if using an elemental weapon on its legs, tail, and wings.

Aknosom Location Weakness

If you are not wielding an elemental weapon, you want to attack certain places where you deal extra damage. These places on a monster differentiate depending on the weapon type you use—Cutting, Impact, or Shot.

Aknosom Resistances and Ailments

This Bird Wyvern is resistant to almost every type of ailment you can inflict on a monster, except two—Blast and Waterblight. Luckily, Aknosom is weak to water, so if you use fast attacking weapons, inflicting Waterblight onto this monster will be effective.
