The talent of Ron Perlman is one you should seldom miss out on. His iconic performance in the Hellboy movies of the 2000s is equally amazing and humorous in their own right. If you haven’t seen those movies, I suggest you have a look since you’re truly missing out. As for video games though, the legend hasn’t gotten into too much. Payday 2 is the closest thing I can think of. With the recent West of Dead though, that changed. Now, it’s time for another console to experience him again, not to mention the game itself. West of Dead, the twin-stick shooter from Raw Fury, is now available on PlayStation 4. If you’re interested in just how good of a game this is, you can find the accolades trailer below.
West of Dead brings players to Purgatory, a gothic underworld filled with otherworldly beings and guns, lots of guns. As William Mason (Ron Perlman), a man awoken in this unfamiliar land, you must adventure through this dungeon, taking everything out in your way. With each run being procedurally generated, William Mason’s time in the Purgatory will never be the same. Utilize everything at your disposal, and use cover and light to your advantage in this twin-stick shooter brimming with passion and charm.
If you don’t have a PS4, you aren’t completely out of luck. Owners of an Xbox One or PC can jump into the action as well right now. You can purchase it through Steam, GOG.com, or the Microsoft Store. If you have an active Game Pass subscription for either platform, you can play it through that too. For Nintendo Switch users, you’ll have to wait a bit longer. There’s no confirmed date yet, but we’ll keep you posted when we have that information.
Overall, exciting news for PS4 users today. Make sure to give West of Dead a try, as I guarantee you won’t regret it. For those that have played it though, what did you think of the game? Did the legend himself bring William Mason to life well? Tell us your thoughts, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
