Wendy Williams, an American writer, and broadcaster, is reportedly back in rehab to treat her substance abuse issues. The talk show host became addicted to liquor following a fallout with her production company. According to sources, her substance abuse worsened as she moved from wine to vodka. Williams’ treatment facility is currently unknown, but earlier, she scouted around Florida and Long Island City in New York. She may be getting help from either location.

Wendy Williams’ substance abuse issue got her back in rehab after her production company refused to get her help. The same source confirmed to Page Six that the company known as Debmar-Mercury turned its back on her. To confirm the story, her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, formerly claimed that the production company didn’t support Wendy’s recovery efforts.

Debmar-Mercury Didn’t Help Wendy Williams’ Issue

Her ex-husband once disclosed to Page Six that the production company didn’t help the situation upon her family’s intervention. He stated that the company wouldn’t sign off on anything that would aid her recovery.

According to Hunter, Wendy Williams’ family attended several interventions with the company over her substance abuse issue. They all met with the star’s family, including her late mom, to discuss ways to help her. The discussions between them didn’t yield the desired result. Instead, the company threatened to take the show from her if she didn’t stop drinking.

Wendy Williams’ Substance Abuse History

Fears for the star got serious when she acted in a strange manner this August. Williams claimed that she was married to a New York Police Department (NYPD) officer named Henry. The bizarre marriage claim by the former radio host was made to Jason Lee of Hollywood Unlocked. Her claim was later reported to be untrue.

Wendy Williams has been battling substance abuse since the early 2000s. However, she got sober until 2019. She admitted it’s true, but nobody knows because of how well looked out there.
