We Happy Few is set to miss out on its initial release date, Compulsion Games announced yesterday.
The game was initially set to be released in a few months, but it will now be launched sometime in the summer. We Happy Few is currently complete, but the company wants to spend more time polishing the game before shipping it out.
Compulsion Games is also allowing players who purchased the game on Steam to request a refund if they’re unhappy with the release date being pushed back.
Usually, fans can only refund games on Steam if they’ve had it for a set amount of time and haven’t played more than two hours of gameplay. Compulsion, however, is allowing players to request a refund regardless of how long they’ve had it or how many hours they’ve played if they’re unhappy with their purchase.
It’s currently unknown how long this offer will last. Compulsion also recently disabled the option to purchase the game on Steam.
The company doesn’t want new players to have the same frustrating experience as other fans. Instead, Compulsion Games wants prospective players to wait until the game’s 1.0 release before allowing anyone to buy the game again.
