The first ever Star Wars: Rogue One trailer has landed today and it gives us a lot of cool footage from the upcoming prequel.
The official Star Wars YouTube page uploaded the trailer today and we are introduced to Felicity Jones’ character. She plays a thief by the name of Jyn Erso. She has been stealing stuff at a young age, but now her skills can be put to good use.
The Rebels have asked her to try and steal the Death Star plans from the Empire. It’s not going to be an easy task to achieve as the Empire have a lot of soldiers at their disposal.
Some familiar characters appear in the Star Wars: Rogue One trailer as we see Mon Mothma and possibly a small glimpse of Darth Vader at 1:18. The music also harks back to the famous Empire theme.
Fans will also be happy to see the old Rebel uniforms and AT-ATs as well. Not to mention there will be other new Stormtroopers and characters we have yet to meet.
It’s only the first teaser so more footage should be released between now and its release date in December 2016. This movie is a spin-off/prequel so don’t expect to see any The Force Awakens characters here.
