Ever since it was announced that there would be a Mass Effect panel at San Diego Comic-Con, fans were hoping for some big reveals on the next entry in the series. While it won’t be the final name, we’ll just refer to that game as Mass Effect 4 until we hear something different. Once the panel took place a few snippets of info hit the internet, such as the return of the Mako and a general timeline of the game. Now, however, you can watch the entire panel for yourself and get all the Mass Effect 4 information for yourself.
The panel then moves on to the unveiling of the Mako as a returning element for the game. The developers then go into greater detail on what has changed between Mass Effect and Mass Effect 4. One of the most significant alterations is that the Mako would not have a cannon on top as it used to. It seems like the vehicle will strictly be about exploring worlds this time.
After this the panel transitions to questions and answers, which is where we hear that the game is not called Mass Effect 4, and that it will not focus on Shepard. The developers wanted to allow exploration in uncharted territories, so there should be new characters, settings, and alien species. Here too we get the emphasis on customization, such as being able to change your “casual outfit” for your character.
No release date or platform information was released for Mass Effect 4, or whatever it ends up being called.
