Watch Dogs is slated to arrive on November 19th, when the open-world title is due to arrive on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PC, PlayStation 4 and “other next-gen consoles”.
Alongside the release date for the highly anticipated title, Ubisoft has released the trailer above, which once again showcases the main features of the technology-laden title.
Players will assume the role of Aiden Pearce, a new type of vigilante who, with the help of his smartphone, will use his ability to hack into Chicago’s central operating system (ctOS) and control almost every element of the city. Aiden will be able to tap into the city’s omnipresent security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control systems such as traffic lights or public transportation to stop a chase, and more.
This release date puts Watch Dogs out just ahead of Thanksgiving, and the all-important shopping season in the U.S. The release date reveal does also indicate that Watch Dogs will be available for the PS4 “at launch”, so this November 19th date isn’t set in stone for those awaiting Sony’s new console.
