Shakedown was one of the most popular mechanics introduced in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2, but it was removed during the start of the new Chapter. Players cannot shakedown opponents to reveal their teammate’s location in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1.
This new change was followed by all recon weapons getting removed from Chapter 3. This includes the Recon Scanner which was introduced in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7. Currently, there is no way of knowing the location of the opponent team in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1.
Shakedown was one of the key mechanics in team game modes, and it made a huge difference in-game. Any team which knocked down one of the members from the opponent’s squad would naturally have an advantage. While squad games thrived on this feature, high-ranked players made the most out of it in pub matches.
Currently, you can only carry an opponent after knocking them. Essentially, this means that you will have to bait the opponent squad by carrying the knocked enemy towards your teammates. Camp around the area and ambush the opponents when they arrive.
