One major problem that many Call of Duty fans have encountered in Warzone 2.0 is being unable to use the Social Tab, the main menu section where friends can be invited. Typically, players will enter Social before starting a match and invite their friends to the group, after which they can queue up for a game mode. However, a recent glitch has been causing users to be sent back to the main menu screen after navigating to Social. Cooperative play is a central element of Warzone 2.0 and the rest of the Call of Duty franchise; therefore, not being able to invite and play with friends is undoubtedly a serious problem.
Fixing the Social Tab Not Working in Warzone 2.0
Fortunately, community members of Warzone 2.0 have come to the rescue with an easy workaround fix that enables users to sidestep the issue of the Social Tab not working correctly. This fix involves turning on Voice Chat and using the Channels Tab to create a party to play with.
How to Ping in Call of Duty: Warzone 2
For those wondering how this method works, YouTube content creator Miner902 has provided an excellent demonstration of how players can bypass the Social Tab error with a simple alternative fix:
- Step 1: Starting in the main menu, open the drop-down window on the right-hand side of the screen.
- Step 2: Instead of selecting Social, navigate one tab over to the right at Channels, indicated by a headset icon.
- Step 3: Next, select Game Channel or My Channel and choose the Invite to Channel option.
- Step 4: This action will open the Invite to Party screen, where players can see a list of their friends and invite them to their channel.
- Step 5: Once Warzone 2.0 teammates have been added to one’s channel, users can queue up for matches similar to how they would have done if Social was working.
While many Warzone 2.0 fans might think the dev team is irresponsible or even careless to let such a significant glitch occur, it is important to keep in mind that any live-service launch with millions of players is bound to bring in a plethora of problems. Fortunately, the playerbase found a workaround for this Social bug; hopefully, Activision will stay on top of keeping everyone’s experience polished and mostly glitch-free.
Warzone 2.0 is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
