It isn’t news to anyone about Warner Bros canceling many shows and movies over 2022, but it seems that is going to be over, according to one of its bosses. Many movies last year were canceled by Warner Bros, like Batgirl and Scoob!: Holiday Haunt, and also shows like Westworld and The Time Traveler’s Wife. Says Variety, Warner Bros Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels announced that in the next 12 months, they will be looking to grow business. It is sad to have seen many loved shows get caught in the crossfire though.

Warner Bros Is Looking To Get More Business

“We took a little bit of time to make sure that we do it properly,” Gunnar Wiedenfels said at Citi’s 2023 Communications, Media & Entertainment Conference. “For some of the titles, we’ve found new homes elsewhere. That’s why this took six or seven months. But I think we’ve come to great solutions and, most importantly, we’re done with that chapter.”

According to the publication, after the acts of cutting back so many movies and shows, the company had cut $3 billion in costs. By the end of 2022, this number had actually risen to $3.5 billion, leading to even more cuts then. With that being said, Warner Bros’ streaming service, HBO Max, has been pulling some of its content as well. Shows then. like, Westworld, The Nevers, and Raised by Wolves were then shifted to platforms with ads, while others like Looney Tunes and The Flintstones as removed altogether.

It seems that the cutting and canceling of shows and movies is over though, as said above, Warner Bros is looking to grow business this year. So if you are in need of more shows and movies to watch, hopefully, we will be getting new content again soon from them. Until then, we don’t have any further updates on if any of these canceled shows will make a comeback in any way.
