There’s no denying that games like Portal 2 and Left 4 Dead have led the co-op games industry to invest a lot in games of their style. Most of them though have unfortunately fallen to the wayside, either offering too little content or not enough to differentiate it from other games. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is not one of those games, offering horde slaughtering goodness all while featuring innovations upon an already successful formula to create something unique and fresh. Considering I and many others have been playing the game for years, it exists as a real testament to the game’s current and future success. Continuing the support the team at Fatshark has been giving the game, Vermintide 2 has just begun hosting its 4th anniversary, seeing as today is officially four years since the game’s release!
What better way to celebrate than to bring back a fan-favorite mode. In case you’re new here, Fatshark likes to bring back the classic A Quiet Drink level for players to enjoy during each anniversary event. A Quiet Drink follows the Ubersreik Five (or four? doesn’t matter) as they search Helmgart for the famous Bugman’s XXXXXX while perhaps a bit under the influence. The challenge won’t be easy though, seeing as both the Skaven and the Rotbloods would like a piece of you as well.
Today isn’t the only time to celebrate Vermintide 2’s 4th anniversary though. One week from today, you can also expect a quality-of-life update featuring plenty of features inspired by the fan-favorite mods out there! There’ll also be a whole host of cosmetics for you to pick up, and much more! If you want to learn what’s coming early, the team promises they’ll be hosting a developer stream on March 11 at 2 PM CET. Be sure to join up and learn what’s next for the rat-slaying co-op FPS!
Which mods do you hope to have their features put in the main game? What sort of content do you think Fatshark will bring next to Vermintide 2? Let me know!
