The cult classic Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is back! At The Game Awards 2021, Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive revealed and showcased the trailer to Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, to be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. However, a release window is yet to be announced.

Once again taking control of the iconic Captain Titus, played by Clive Standen (Vikings, Taken), this time around the relentless Tyranid hordes will be your enemy. Well, at least for the first half of the game, I assume. We all know Chaos is always lurking in the background, somewhere. Focus Entertainment also wrote that there will be dark secrets to uncover and we will have to drive back “the everlasting night” to prove our ultimate loyalty to the Imperium of Man. Watch Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 announcement trailer below.

The first Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine game was developed by Relic Entertainment and published by THQ back on September 6, 2011, for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. While it was short and pretty rough, the hack-and-slash-shooter hybrid perfectly captures the visceral and brutal fighting style of the Space Marine, complete with finishing moves that restore your health. Relic Entertainment was planning to make a trilogy to focus on Captain Titus’ struggle against his faith and Chaos, but the plan fell short no thanks to THQ bankruptcy. Game Director Raphael van Lierop spoke to Penny-Arcade Report (via Softpedia) about it.

Will Saber Interactive continue this leftover plot or make up its own story for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2? We’ll just have to wait and see. Stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for more The Game Awards 2021 news and updates.
