The fine folks at Frontier Foundry have just released a brand new trailer for their upcoming tactical turn-based RPG, Warhammer 40,000 Chaos Gate Daemonhunters.
Warhammer 40,000 Chaos Gate Daemonhunters is a brand new game set in the universe of 40k. You take command of a space marine strike force and fight a war of extermination against daemons in a gameplay loop similar to games such as Phoenix Point and XCOM 2.
Players can also build up a squad of soldiers, level them up, and pick their classes from an advanced class system. In the trailer, we also got a glimpse of a research system and a strike cruiser that will serve as the base of operations in Daemonhunters.
From the strike cruiser, players will be able to launch operations similar to Xcom 2 and strike deep at the heart of the unclean and Grandfather Nurgle’s minions. These operations will lead to tense battles, which will take place across several game environments and maps.
On all maps, players will be able to utilize the battlefield itself to their advantage. For example, players can blow up power generators, shoot down pillars and more to flush foes out of cover and flank and take cover themselves.
Overall, it seems Chaos Gate is shaping up to be a massive release for the 40kgenre, and it’s a good thing because it has been a hot minute since we had a decent 40k title. That said, stay tuned for 2022, as Warhammer 40,000 Chaos Gate Daemonhunters marches forth next year with the full force of the Emperor onto both Steam and Epic Games.
