If you’ve stumbled across the Wormwood chest in the Gardens of Esila in the Dreaming City in Destiny 2: Forsaken, you might wonder what the “Warded by the wormhost” message means. This guide will explain how to unlock this chest.
Wormwood Chest
You’ll find the Wormwood chest in the Gardens of Esila sitting near a waterfall. You can get to the Gardens of Esila via the Confluence and its Taken Portals or consult this Dreaming City map for more information.
Warded by the Wormhost
When you approach the Wormwood chest, you’ll see a “Warded by the wormhost” message and won’t be able to open it. In order to unlock the chest, you will have to find and kill a total of ten worms.
Worm Locations
The worms spawn in a variety of locations in the Gardens of Esila. The locations are randomly determined so you may have to spend a lot of time searching the area. Fortunately, we have images of some locations, as well as a map detailed below.
You may die during your search but you shouldn’t leave the region or return to orbit or your progress will reset.
Once you’ve killed ten worms, you will see a message in the bottom left stating that “The influence of the wormhost fades.” You’ll then be able to open the chest and be underwhelmed by your rewards. But hey, you can now say that you’ve done!
