Marvel fans got a welcome surprise this morning when Disney+’s official Twitter dropped a sneak peek of the upcoming seventh episode of WandaVision.
Following on the heels of last night’s Cruella trailer, the clip entitled “We’ve All Been There” suggests that WandaVision has finally cracked into the current day with their TV-themed episodes with a Modern Family style seemingly taking over the next episode. Although just released, fans have been quick to point out the interview style and snappy cuts seen in Modern Family.
But that’s not all. The observant fans in the crowd noticed that Billy and Tommy’s game system reverts from a Wii into a GameCube. While this is not the first leap through time we have seen from WandaVision; it is the first step backward. Is this further suggested that Wanda is losing control over her world? In the clip, Wanda is shown lying in bed when the kids bust in to tell her about their changing game system. She also discusses the previous episode’s mistakes, such as “intentionally expanding the borders of the false world.”
It is also revealed at the end of the preview that Wanda has not even had time to change out of her Halloween costume from the night before. This suggests another decade-sized jump in the TV themes in less than a couple of hours. This leaves us wondering just what happens when WandaVision catches up with modern times? So far, we have only seen the TV show stuck several decades behind the present. Now, with the theme boldly switching to Modern Family, fans should be expecting something big.
