One of Samurai Shodown’s most notable veterans is joining the latest entry in the series this week.

SNK announced that the final character in its current season pass, Wan-Fu, will join the revitalized Samurai game starting Wednesday, Dec. 18. He brings some old-school goodness along with him, something he’s had since the series first began in 1993.

A general in the Qing Dynasty, Wan-Fu uses a large stone pillar to smash his opponents. He can also create fiery attacks to damage foes, both on the ground and in the air. The trailer below gives you a pretty good idea of just how powerful he is. He may be slow, but he’s devastating.

In addition to Wan-Fu, Samurai Shodown’s latest update will also bring a handful of adjustments to current characters. The detailed list is available here, with specifics as to how they are affected.

While Wan-Fu wraps up the current season of characters—which also includes Rimiruru, Basara, Kazuki Kazama, and Shizumaru Hisame—the game will receive a second one in 2020. This will include new characters, such as the already-confirmed Mina Majikina.

SNK will also continue to update Samurai Shodown, to coincide with its debut on the Nintendo Switch and PC, sometime in early 2020. Samurai Shodown is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
