It’s been 6 years since we last saw Walter White aka Heisenberg when Felina ended the award-winning Breaking Bad series. Now the story finally continues with the El Camino Netflix movie featuring Aaron Paul as Jessie Pinkman, the heart of the series and sadly the punching bag for Walter White’s antics.
Fans have pondered one major question since the finale of Breaking Bad, and that question has resurfaced with the movie announcement: What happened to Walter White?
As most people know Walter White was wounded in a shootout during the last episode. We last saw him falling over in a meth lab with cops surrounding him, supposedly bleeding out. Common sense says he died, but TV has tricked us too many times. There are so many times characters that die on TV shows but came back to life. Just look at Glenn and the trashcan fiasco from The Walking Dead and the Canaries sisters from Arrow.
Viewers need undeniable proof.
That proof came from Vince Gilligan, Breaking Bad creator, during The Rich Eisen Show. The host, Eisen, asked Gilligan the same question fans have been asking for years and Gilligan finally gave a concrete answer.
Soon afterward Gilligan was asked if Walter would return in El Camino via flashback but Gilligan would not give a clear answer. It’s safe to assume that Bryan Cranston will reprise his role as Waler White in some way even if his character is dead.
Even without Walter White, fans can’t wait to see the future of Jessie and dive back into the Breaking Bad world. For now let’s just binge-watch Breaking Bad again in anticipation of the two-hourlong movie releasing this Friday, October 11.
