The epic rock/metal and Viking infusion rhythm game is ready to set sail. Independent studio WanadevStudio has announced that their new game Ragnarock is for official release today. Players can now access the full game through Steam to enjoy both the single and multiplayer modes.

The Vikings Are Coming…TO ROCK!

In Ragnarock, players assume the role of a Viking captain with rhythm. As they set forth across the sea with their fellow Vikings, the trials of beats and bashes come into play. But their enemies approach – not with axes, but with hammers and guitars. In a series of fantastical races featuring tunes of metal and Celtic rock, the Vikings battle one another in musical races across six unique environments inspired by Norse mythology.

The VR Viking rhythm game’s official release comes with an explosive trailer that shows all of Ragnarock‘s glory. There are comical Viking animations, musically intense races, and otherworldly environments. Races can hold up to six players, while single-player voyages pit solo rockers against competitive ghost ships. The trailer also shares some of the new tracks that have been added to the game. Some of the artists behind the tunes include Alestorm, Saltatio Mortis, Ultra Vomit, and Sabordage. As of today, there are currently 30 songs to choose from in Ragnarock.

Multiplayer Components for Ragnarock

Ragnarock includes a cross-play functionality for multiplayer platforms as well. While it is available for Steam right now, an Oculus Quest version will come very soon. In addition to including every player possible, the game will host leaderboards, post the best scores, and award medals to the most immersive rockers. Those who are dedicated will receive special hammers to add to their collections. There’s also a new emoji communication device that players can use to interact with one another.
