And, of course, there are pre-order bonuses.
Not very long ago, Sony’s JAPAN Studio announced their newest project, the VR platformer ASTRO BOT Rescue Mission. The game made an appearance at this year’s E3 last month, and now the official release date has been revealed.
Creative Director Nicolas Doucet announced in a recent post on the official PlayStation blog that ASTRO BOT Rescue Mission will launch exclusively for PS VR on October 2. In the game, players will help the robot spaceship captain Astro find and rescue his crew. This journey will take Astro and the player across 26 levels and 6 boss battles in a 3D platforming virtual reality environment. One of the mechanics that makes the game unique from other platformers is how the player and Astro act as two separate entities. Aside from controlling Astro, the player will be represented in the game by an in-game PlayStation controller, which can do things like shoot hook shots or ninja stars to defeat enemies or solve puzzles.
ASTRO BOT Rescue Mission will cost $39.99 and is currently available for pre-order. Pre-order bonuses include four PSN Avatars, a Dynamic PS4 Theme and the game’s full digital soundtrack. Below, you can watch a new video in which Doucet explains some of ASTRO BOT Rescue Mission‘s mechanics.
