The virtual reality world is getting a new military shooter for players to add to their libraries. VR shooter Alvo (stylized as ALVO) is launching today for the Oculus Quest 2 for only $24.99. This new take on the VR military shooter genre spices up the action with agile movements and several game modes. The game is also available for the PSVR.

Lock and Load, ALVO Rolling Out Onto the Battlefield

ALVO centers around 5v5 matches that can be played through a small number of modes. Training Mode gives players an AI playground to test and stretch their skills before moving onto the PvP playlists. Free 4 All pits everyone against each other; Search and Destroy is more objective-based with an attack squad and a defensive one going at it; Team Death Match has the two squads mustering up team kills till the bitter end of the match. A zombie mode is currently in development.

ALVO follows in the footsteps of the other well-known military shooters that offer different experiences. Titles such as Onward, Pavlov, Contractors, and a few more come to mind. They all focus on modern-era shooters where realism blends with total immersion from the player. ALVO will have the players jumping, running, lying down, and sliding while engaging in intense combat with fellow squadmates.
