Viz Media announced and confirmed their May manga release catalog, featuring three new series debuts. The biggest and most anticipated title on this list is Hiroki Tomisawa’s Super Smartphone manga in English on May 8th. After revealing the first three chapters as a part of their “Jump Start” initiative, fans have eagerly been awaiting more. Along with Super Smartphone, the upcoming manga are: Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible and Crazy Food Truck. Both of these titles are in the comedy genre.
As of now, it is unclear if Shueisha’s Manga Plus will release the given titles on their platform as well.
Viz Media describes the story for Super Smartphone follows a high school student that finds a phone. With this phone, he can “search for anything on Earth and use it to solve difficult crime cases.” Also, the manga will launch in the 23rd issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on Monday. The manga is in the suspense and mystery genre and will have 54 pages to its first chapter.
What Else to Expect With Viz’s New May Manga Titles
Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible is a comedy romance anime that follows a high school student named Kubo. As Kubo sits next to Shiraishi on the first day of school, Shiraishi’s “nonexistent social skills get a boost.” Kubo forces him to be noticed at school, at the bookstore, and anywhere they go. This is all a part of her master plan. Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible is available for reading.
Crazy Food Truck is labeled as an action-adventure Comedy. Viz describes the story as telling the story of Gordon, a middle-aged cook that runs a food truck in a sand-covered post-apocalyptic wasteland. When he encounters Arisa, a girl sleeping in the middle of nowhere, his life changes. Now with a new travel companion and her massive appetite, they have to run from the military hot on her trail. Crazy Food Truck will release on May 17th.
