Vivo has expanded its smartphone portfolio in India by launching a new entry-level smartphone called the Y90. The device is the most affordable offering from the Chinese vendor, and is expected to expand its market to new users.
The Vivo Y90 is priced at Rs. 6,990 and will be available in Black and Gold color options across all offline partner stores and major e-commerce websites starting July 27. Like all Vivo devices sold in India, the Y90 is also manufactured in the country, at the company’s Greater Noida facility.
The Y90 features a 6.22-inch Halo FullView HD+ (1520 x 720) display, and is powered by the 12nm MediaTek Helio A22 (MT6761) SoC with a 12nm design. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, expandable by up to 256GB via a microSD card. The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box in the form of Funtouch OS 4.5, and rocks a 4,030mAh battery with Vivo’s exclusive smart power management system that the company says allows for long-lasting endurance.
