Just in time to scare the pants off you during the Halloween! The full release of Visage, a psychological horror by SadSquare Studio, is set to release on October 30th on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Set in an eerie town during the 1980’s, your character wanders through an uncanny house with “gloomy corridors”, “dead rooms” and “endless mazes.” You begin to see fragmented aspects of the history of the families that once inhabited the unearthly home. As you progress, you will discover more about the tragic stories behind the demise of each family member. But be careful, something might not be too happy with you snooping around.

Visage was released for early access on October 2nd via Steam. The early version included two chapters which is approximately eight hours of terrifying goodness. According to SadSquare Studio, the full release will contain four chapters with fifteen hours of content.

The developers have noted that Visage “focuses on exploration and builds tension slowly to create a deeper and more meaningful experience… it is a difficult game in unconventional ways.” Indeed, it is an atmospheric first-person experience with realistic environments that’ll make you feel immersed in its twisted world. The gorgeous visuals are almost made oxymoronic by its genuinely horrifying subject matter and story. Additionally, SadSquare have stated that the infamous P.T. was an influence for this game and that they wanted to expand on the idea of a “real-life horror simulator.”

In terms of gameplay, you will be able to pick up items, interact with the environment, search in places like drawers, manage your “stress” levels and slowly open doors “Amnesia-style.”

More information about Visage will be on their regularly updated Kickstarter page.
