When you think of a dog-eat-dog world, the kind of place someone will shoot you for your shoelaces, Norway is likely one of the last places you think of. Bohemia Interactive disagrees, and their free to play looter shooter, titled Vigor, is set there. The players are called Outlanders and their goal is to find resources to help them survive and to build a shelter, taking any gear they’ve found to one of the exit points on the map, although if they die they will lose what they’re currently carrying. Every player in Vigor has a home base where they can store their valuables, taking only what they need out with them on expeditions, as well as crafting items using parts they find in the world. Now, the game is making its way to Game Pass.
Bohemia Interactive themselves have some pretty major releases under their belt, although they’re likely best known for their work on DayZ Standalone and Arma. They are currently involved in a number of projects other than the development of Vigor, including Ylands, a sandbox game that was born out of their platform for releasing small indie-style experimental projects.
A free to play game coming to Game Pass is a little strange, but there are several reasons that may make it worth revisiting. Downloading Vigor via Game Pass gives a sort of early game boost, including a selection of handy weapon sets that have been carefully chosen from previous Battle Pass seasons, additionally, players will enjoy a decent sum of Crowns which can be used to purchase in-game cosmetics, social boosters that have an influence on interacting with other players, or they can even be used to buy a Battle Pass. Game Pass Ultimate players will be easily spotted out in the world, thanks to the exclusive outfit that’s included as part of the package.
