ViacomCBS aims to become a bigger player in the global streaming business, as CBS All Access gears up to rebrand as Paramount Plus early next year.

The new name aligns with an expansion effort related to original and archived programming drawn from the combined Viacom and CBS Corp. Aside from the rebranding, a library of shows and films from leading networks including BET, CBS, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, MTV, and others will be added to Paramount Plus. In addition to this library, networks like BET, Comedy Central, and ViacomCBS will produce original shows for Paramount Plus.

The new shows in the works for Paramount Plus include a reboot of the Mara Brock Akil comedy The Game, a spin-off of Girlfriends which aired between 2006-2009 on CW, a CIA-set terrorism drama series Lioness from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. Joining these is The Real Criminal Minds, a true-crime docuseries based on the hit CBS Television series, and much more. One of the most exciting shows is the Godfather-inspired limited series The Offer. It will be written by Michael Tolkin and Leslie Greif with Oscar-winning producer Al Ruddy serving as executive producer.

Speaking of ViacomCBS’s aim to market Paramount Plus as an all-encompassing streaming service, Marc DeBevoise, the chief digital officer of ViacomCBS, said the following:
