Fans of the Castlevania-inspired game Vampire Survivors have been enjoying a steadily increasing amount of content courtesy of the games’ developer Poncle. Updates had been released regularly every two weeks since the start of the year. But on March 24, Poncle unveiled a huge roadmap for the game’s future, revealing that only 60% of the game’s content had been released so far.
In a post on the official Vampire Survivors Steam page, the developer revealed that the game would expand in the future to include nine new characters, 16 new weapons, two new power-ups, five new stages, and dozens more achievements. Additionally, the developer revealed the addition of a new feature called Arcanas, which are set to be released in April.
In the huge post, Poncle explained that this content represents a roadmap to Vampire Survivors version 1.0. The developer also added that the game would not be receiving a story mode, but will instead rely on environmental storytelling as “the deep lore of Vampire Survivors requires a solid grasp of theoretical physics to be fully appreciated.”
What’s more, the developer shared details on some of the future plans for the game. A mobile version is planned after the game gets an engine overhaul. Apparently the game was originally developed for Android, but ran so poorly that that idea was scrapped. Now, with a more optimized engine, Vampire Survivors could return to mobile.
