It’s (semi-)official, Valve is showing off Defense of the Ancients 2 at GamesCom this August. A fan made DOTA2 forum has set up a clock that counts down to Valve’s showcase at GamesCom next month after they obtained a copy of a letter that their colleagues at ‘sgamer.com’ received from Valve (shown below), inviting them to come to their DOTA2 presentation. The letter looks convincing, but even the writer of the forum states that this could be a fake as it hasn’t been officially confirmed from Valve as of the time this article was written.

If it is real, it doesn’t really come as a surprise considering it has already been confirmed that Valve would be at the event showcasing a new strategy game. DOTA2 is said to incorporate realistic cloth physics and be released at the same time Steam’s download system gets a speed increase. Now, the bigger question is: how many annoying fans are going to lunge at Gabe Newell for information regarding the future of Half Life…again?
