Valve cares more about the Steam events in the last years. They were putting forward the games with seasonal sales, and these sales might be the best times of the year. But in the previous months, we started seeing fests on Steam, and they’re heading up the games with these events. Another one is about to head up, too; Valve announced their new event, Steam VR Fest, and this will be the season of the VR games.

VR games are a big part of the next generation of gaming experience. Steam is one of the most supportive platforms for experience designers. VR games have also improved in recent years; Steam aims to put them forward.

The First Steam VR Fest Starts on July 18th

You might remember the Steam Next Fest; it happened last month and was a big chance for indie game developers. A similar thing is happening for VR games; between July 18th – July 25th. Steam will put forward the virtual reality-tagged games on a particular event page, and we might expect sales too. We could see demo titles as we saw with the Steam Next Fest; the concept is similar.

Steam is already the first point for gamers with a VR headset. Valve doesn’t confine itself to selling VR games; Valve also made VR games. Half-Life: Alyx is an excellent example; the game was also a milestone for VR games. Valve made a significant contribution to the virtual-reality gaming world and showed us they’d got belief in this category.

If you have a virtual-reality headset, you might consider getting a few games from the Steam VR Fest. Even if you don’t plan to get more VR games this year, there’s a chance that Valve will organize the event next year too. Valve does not confirm this yet, but it’s known that they’re planning to make events next year too.
