If Valorant is known for anything, it’s known for both the similarities to the game CS: GO, and its skins. While those who prefer CS could point out so many things they dislike in comparison, most would agree that Valorant wins in the skin department. From the varied weapon sounds (exclusive to the player), different animations and sounds for kills, to literal dragons in the shape of various weapons, it’s hard to see otherwise. And the newest skin line coming to the game is no different. Today, Valorant unveiled its Lunar New Year 2022 skin line alongside showing off some of the cosmetics on the way with the premium and free event passes. You can check out the trailer debuting all of these below.

This year’s skin line offers up skins for the Operator, Phantom, Shorty, Spectre, and Knife, with the knife coming in the form of a sword. To be more specific regarding the individual look of each skin, each sports a matte black paint job littered with deep red lines, along with some animated black and red components. Beyond that, tigers adorn various portions of the weapons, as an obvious nod to the fact that these weapons are celebrating the Chinese Year of the Tiger.

Alongside the Lunar New Year 2022 skins for Valorant, premium and free event rewards are available as well. While we don’t have specific details, premium track players can score themselves a new gun buddy, spray depicting a tiger’s head, and player card depicting an older and wiser Chinese warrior fighting alongside a vicious tiger. As for the free rewards, players can score themselves a happier gun buddy, a spray depicting a happier chibi tiger, and a player card depicting Sage, Jett, and Neon enjoying a traditional New Year meal. All of these combine together to make for a visually appealing and reward-filled Lunar New Year.
