A new armor set and a stirring swamp oddity arrive in Iron Gate’s Viking-themed survival sandbox today courtesy of Valheim Patch 0.205.5. The developer has pieced together notes to flank the update. You can check out the full Valheim 0.205.5 patch notes right here.

Significantly smaller in size and scope than September’s hearty Hearth & Home update, Valheim Patch 0.205.5 includes the usual host of minor fixes and tweaks. These include music and animation tweaks along with a fix for a multiplayer auto-stack issue that saw items disappear. Alongside, sleeping monsters will now respond to ranged attacks.

However, the highlight is what Iron Gate cryptically teases as ‘something stirs in the swamps.’ An accompanying development blog fleshes out this mystery a little:

All this suggests the new armor set (pictured above) that’s making its way into the game as part of Valheim Patch 0.205.5 is linked to what we imagine is a new swampy enemy.

The development blog also explains work is well underway on the upcoming Mistlands update. The previously barren biome is showing more signs of life within the mist. Additionally, Iron Gate teased ongoing work to bring caves to the Mountain biome, hinting at the presence of lupine enemies lurking within.
