In the mythical and perilous lands of Valheim, winning fights is all about how you fill your Viking belly. As you can’t level your character, food plays a significant role in boosting your character’s stamina and health stats. While munching on a few berries or mushrooms can lightly satisfy your appetite, true champions eat like champions. To have an edge in combat, you’ll need to eat the most effective foods that provide robust and long-lasting buffs. One of the best of these is the Valheim sausage. Seasoned with a bit of thistle and a hint of Draugr guts, these high-cholesterol links of meat guarantee you an advantage over your enemies even in the “wurst” situations.

To cook sausages in Valheim, you’ll need a Cauldron, which is crafted from 10 Tin ingots smelted at your Forge. After placing a fire underneath it, the next step is to gather the ingredients for your sausage recipe. First, you’ll need four thistles. These are found within the Black Forest and Swamp biomes. While they aren’t too difficult to spot, they emit a blue glow, making them more visible at nighttime. Next, you will need one hunk of raw meat. It’s a primary food source that comes from killing deer, boar, or wolves. The final ingredient is quite nasty; you’ll need two entrails from killing Draugr located in the Swamp and Meadows biome. However, be wary, for these undead enemies can pack a serious punch if you enter their territory unprepared. After collecting these three ingredients, head back to camp and cook up some savory sausages.

The following are stat bonuses you can expect to receive from eating one sausage:

Max Health: +60

Max Stamina: +40

Duration: 1,600 seconds (approx. 26 minutes)

Healing: 3 HP per tick

To summarize, here is the Valheim sausage recipe:

  • Thistles x 4
  • Raw meat x 1
  • Entrails x 2
