Dragon eggs are an item in Valheim many did not know what to do with for some time. It was only recently that players found out that dragon eggs are essential in spawning the fourth boss, Moder. Moder is a large black dragon that is the boss in the Mountain biome. She requires three dragon eggs to be summoned, but actually getting the eggs is tricky. Here’s what players need to know to find and get as many dragon eggs as they need.
How to Get Dragon Eggs
Dragon eggs in Valheim are actually pretty easy to find. All you need to do is venture into the Mountains and look for dragon nests. They’re pretty easy to spot as the eggs themselves are large, purple, and emit a purple light. If you are still having difficulty, look for Drakes. Where there be Drakes, there will be nests.
While finding the dragon eggs is an easy task, actually bringing them along is another story. The eggs themselves weigh 200 pounds so you will not be picking up more than one at a time. You also need to be sure they have enough space in your inventory. If, for some reason, you don’t have enough space, the egg you picked up might disappear.

The eggs are also impervious to teleportation as they are considered to be raw metal. So, you should find the summoning location for Moder in their Mountain biome and mark it. That way they will have a clear destination when picking up and carrying the eggs. Once all three eggs are in place, and she is summoned, you can go back to your base and retrieve your gear. Moder doesn’t spawn immediately, so you will have some time to prepare.
