V Rising is a vampire survival game recently released through Early Access on Steam. One of the many resources you’ll eventually need to improve your weapons and tools is iron. After all, while Copper equipment will help you early on, upgrading to iron tools will make it significantly easier to survive. This guide will provide information on where to find iron and how to obtain it in V Rising.

How to Get Iron in V Rising

While you may already be familiar with obtaining copper, iron is much harder to find because it is not available around the entire map. Instead, in V Rising, you’ll find iron in only one location that is accessible once you are around level 35. You’ll find iron in the Haunted Iron Mine in the center of the game map. The Haunted Iron Mine is located in the southern part of Dunley Farmlands, a region north of the Farbane Woods. The image above shows the approximate location using the V Rising Interactive Map. However, before venturing to this part of the map to farm for iron, be sure to equip yourself with a Copper Mace or better. Without it, you’ll be unable to mine the iron. Despite the Haunted Iron Mine being the only location to find iron, you will find plenty here. Iron is available by mining the ore rocks and searching the chests scattered around the area.

Alternatively, if you do not want to travel to the Haunted Iron Mine, you may rarely find iron in golden chests around the map. While you may occasionally find some iron in these chests, this method is slower and will not net you nearly as much as mining it. If you’re above level 35 and feel comfortable venturing around the Mine, you’ll have a much easier time finding iron by mining it and searching the chests in this area instead.

V Rising: Where to Find Whetstones

Once you obtain your iron ore, you can use it to create Iron Ingots in your castle’s furnace. You can use your iron to craft Iron weapons and tools using a Smithy.

V Rising is currently available as an Early Access Game on PC through Steam.
