In the survival open-world game V Rising, you’re playing as an up-and-coming vampire, itching to bite some neck and prove your worth. Like in many other survival titles, there are tons of resources you need to gather to build up your empire. But come on, you are supposed/going to be a Vampire Lord, so why waste time doing chores when you have more important things to do? Well, thankfully, like various famous vampires across countless media, you can enthrall innocent people and utilize them as your Servants in V Rising.
How to Get Servants in V Rising
To acquire your army of thralls, you have to play through the game until you have opened the “Army of Darkness” Quest. Here you’re tasked to turn a human into a Servant using the Dominating Presence Ability. These are the steps on how to get yourself a subservient Servant:
- Find a human, then attack them until their health is down to at least 30%.
- Press the CTRL key to open the Ability Wheel and pick Dominating Presence.
- Press the R key to use Vampire Kiss and seduce the target.
- Bring the seduced victim back to your Castle, then go to a Servant’s Coffin.
- Interact with it, then select the Convert option.
- Wait for a bit (you can name them too if you want), then click the Rise button.
- Congratulations, now you have successfully converted a person into your mindless thrall!
If you upgrade the Castle Heart, you can make more Servant Coffins within your Castle and utilize more Servants for up to 9 Servants per player in a V Rising Clan for 36 Servants total. To make craft more Servant Coffins, you will need:
- Planks x16
- Copper Ingots x8
- Greater Blood Essence x1
- You can get Greater Blood Essence from Unsullied Hearts, and obtaining it isn’t a cakewalk.

You’ll need to get to know your Servants better by learning their stats and perks if you want to be the best Vampire Lord. Here are the basics you have to memorize:
- Blood Type: Determines Servant’s type.
- Blood Type Quality: Determines how much expertise the Servant will have, affecting the power of their equipment.
- Tier I or 1% Blood Quality.
- Tier II or 30% Blood Quality.
- Tier III or 60% Blood Quality.
- Tier IV or 90% Blood Quality.
- Tier V or 100% Blood Quality.
- Faction: Gives a 20% buff on a specific region depending on where you sourced your Servants.
- For example, Servants from the Farbane Woods will gain a bonus when conducting missions in that region.
- Gear: Any equipment and armor you give your Servants will improve their gear stats and resource yield.

Ordering Servants to Work
In V Rising you can utilize your Servants to farm for materials once you construct a Castle Throne. Sit on the Castle Throne to open up the Vardoran map and send them to appropriate zones. Then to make sure the expedition has more chance of success, follow these steps:
- Press the Click to Add in the map menu.
- Compare the number next to the crossed swords icons and the Success Chance number below your Servant’s name.
- Also, check the perks needed for the expedition next to the crossed swords icons too.
- If the numbers of both are close to each other then that means there is a high chance that your Servants won’t fail their mission.
- Once they’re back, Summon them from their Coffins and take the loot.
And as you can expect, it’s a good idea to equip your Servants with a good Gear Score before sending them on expeditions because your Servants can fail and die. Nevertheless, you can resurrect them again with blood in their respective Servant Coffin.
For solo and private session players, keep in mind that the timer when sending out Servant ticks down only in real-time and when you’re playing. It will stop counting down when you leave the session. Most people suggest just sticking to the 2 hours intervals if possible since the time-to-reward ratio doesn’t particularly scale up well anyway.
Sending Them for Bosses and PvP
Aside from gathering loot, once you send them for patrol, the Servants will fight any enemies they meet. That includes V Blood Bosses as well, so you can send them first and follow up to gang up on harder Bosses.
Servants can also be used to attack another Clan’s Castle or protect your own during PvP. Don’t forget to utilize Servant Lock on doors to keep Servants out of certain areas and make it easier to direct them down the path you want them to take.
Imprisoning Servants
Lastly, as the cruel Vampire Lord you are, you might also want to imprison one of your high-level Servants to drink their blood with a Glass Vial. Like hunting for blood out in the open, drinking their blood will boost your stats as well. You can do this indefinitely, long as you don’t forget to feed your Servant. Hey, anything to make you spend less time out of your vampire mancave, right?
