V Rising, the vampire survival game from the team who brought us Battlerite, is today launching their newest game V Rising in Steam Early Access. The game is currently planned for a 12-month early access window, which will be followed by the game’s full release. What Exactly is V Rising?
V Rising does exactly what it says on the tin, allowing you to take on the role of a vampire waiting to get their share of blood. Awakening in an unfamiliar tomb, you make your way out into the world to both consume as much blood as possible and construct your empire from the simplest of materials up to the grandest. All of this, while avoiding the scorching sun which proves harmful. It’s a simple premise, though brought up by its intriguing combat system alongside its expansive world. While some of this is naturally restricted, being early access and all, what’s there so far is promised to be more than worth your time and money. Will you work together with your fellow vampires to forge a glorious bloodthirsty empire, or will you do battle to see who will take the liquid spoils?
As far as the studio behind V Rising, Stunlock Studios is best known for their team arena brawler Battlerite. While the game’s playerbase is no longer alive, at its peak this was a brawler to be reckoned with. Featuring some enjoyable top-down action, plenty of characters to choose from, and more than enough strategy, it’s easy to see how V Rising’s combat took some of the best pieces from that project. We can only hope this project takes more of that game’s greatest aspects while ensuring future support for the title.
