A release date has been set for Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition. Previously, we reported on speculation that it would be out sometime during June, and it turns out that we weren’t far off the mark. The updated re-release of the hugely popular hack-and-slash title is slated for a digital release on June 23. Those interested in having a physical copy of the game will have to import it, as there’s no planned physical release for the US.
While the release date’s certainly cause for celebration, Devil May Cry fans got as second gift in the form of a trailer released alongside it. The trailer is absolutely bursting with gameplay footage, and showcases the abilities of Dante and Nero as well as the three new characters joining them. Take a look at it below.
On top of a look at Vergil, Trish and Lady, we’re teased with some footage of the game’s new mode, Legendary Dark Knight. This mode appears to take some queues from the Dynasty Warriors series, as the screen seems nearly fully of enemies. There are also some blink-and-you’ll-miss-them glances of alternate costumes and palettes for your playable characters. Lady’s DMC3 costume and Trish’s Gloria disguise are currently being offered as pre-order bonuses.
Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition will be released on June 23 for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
