  • OnePlus 8 Series will go on sale as scheduled

Barely a week and a half after reopening its Greater Noida factory following a six-week shutdown, Oppo has closed down the plant once again after at least six employees there tested positive for COVID-19. The company is currently waiting for the test results of 3,000 of its employees at the factory, and plans to restart operations with only COVID-free workers once the results come back.

Update 1 (18/05/2020 2:39 pm)

Our story mentioned that Oppo’s factory shutdown might cause OnePlus issues with the OnePlus 8 sale in India.

In response to that, a OnePlus spokesperson has reached out to us and said that the company’s plans are not affected. The spokesperson gave us the following statement:

“The health and wellbeing of our employees, partners and contractors remains our top priority. We are closely monitoring the current situation while ensuring necessary measures are being implemented in accordance with the Government’s instructions.

In line with our recent sale announcements for the OnePlus 8 series 5G, we are moving forward with our sales schedule as planned”
