- Uber halts service across multiple cities
Uber has shut down its ride-hailing services in Delhi NCR while Ola has drastically reduced the availability of its cabs in the city because of the coronavirus crisis. In separate press statements on Monday, the companies said that the decision will remain in place at least until March 31st amidst the lockdown announced by the state government on Sunday. Both companies had last week suspended their carpool services in the city to contain the spread of the deadly virus.

As of Tuesday, March 24th, Uber has suspended some or all of its ride-hailing services in more than three dozen cities across India, including: Tirupati, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Bangalore, Mysore, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Ajmer, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Udaipur, Hyderabad, Agra, Bareilly, Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Asansol, Durgapur and Siliguri.
