Having fun with Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War and its new COD Zombies mode? Well, Activision has more surprises in store for you. According to an anonymous leak on the 4chan imageboard, it will be getting six new maps with one map for each season. Three are free, while the others will be tied to the COD: Cold War Battlepass system.

The free maps are:

  • Firebase Z, a Vietnam-based map releasing on February 4, which Activision and Treyarch already announced beforehand. The map is split into two parts; a medium-size outpost with tiny rooms and corridors with big areas, and an abandoned village in the middle of the jungle with swimming zombies.
  • Mauer der Toten, set in East Berlin during the ’80s. It will feature “chunks” of Kino der Toten and Verruckt from the previous COD Zombies games. Huge streets paired with tiny spaces inside of various buildings.
  • And the last one is called Spusk Stali, where you’ll fight in a glacier on the base of a huge snowy mountain. A completely vertical map, it goes all the way from the Russian facility at the top of the mountain to the frozen caverns filled with ruins and ancient artifacts inside of it. There will also be portals connecting different caverns and tunnels.

As stated before, aside from the three free maps, three more are coming every other season. Starting with Season 2, COD: Cold War Battlepass will feature Zombie contents.

All the upcoming Battlepass maps will be “remakes” from the original COD: Black Ops 2. The first one will be a Green Run remake, where you ride a bus and move around a huge area. And the two other maps are Die Rise, another vertical map set in a skyscraper, and Buried, an abandoned Western-styled town. The Battlepass will also add Zombies exclusive skins for Operators Samantha Maxis and Eddie Redpoll. It’s still not clear whether they will keep adding new maps through every Battlepass season from then on or not.

Another anonymous post also adds that, according to their own source, Activision was planning to release three free maps since the company didn’t think COD Zombies will do well after Black Ops 4. But thanks to “very positive responses” this year, Activision will release more content on a faster schedule.

Not to mention that allegedly there are talks to either port COD: Black Ops 3‘s Zombies Chronicles over to COD: Cold War or create a sequel with maps that haven’t been remade from previous Black Ops titles since the next game won’t have a Zombies mode.
