While next month’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is being described as a swan song for Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series, it seems like the series could still have a future going forward.

The game’s creative director, Neil Druckmann, recently spoke with GamesRadar and discussed the possibilities of an Uncharted 5 that was handled by a new studio. He said the following:

“If they made a great game I’d be excited. I’d want to play an Uncharted I didn’t work on. It’d be a lot of fun. Obviously, we would have a big part in it as the creators of the franchise. We’d just want to make sure they get the essence of it right.”

While the prospects of an Uncharted 5 will hinge heavily on how the ending of Uncharted 4 plays out, it’s safe to say that more Uncharted games coming from a capable studio would be welcomed by many.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will launch exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on May 10th.
